Sqills, the Dutch provider of inventory, ticketing and reservation software for the rail and bus industry, and Rail Delivery Group (RDG) have started a 4-month discovery project to detail the implementation plan for deploying S3 Passenger for all RDG affiliated Great Britain based Train Operating Companies (TOC).
S3 Passenger will replace the NRS platform currently used by the TOCs during an 18-month implementation period. S3 Passenger is planned to go into production for the first TOC by the second half of 2020.
Millions of passenger segments anually
Following an extensive tender process, RDG has selected Sqills’ S3 Passenger SaaS platform as its preferred new inventory system. RDG, servicing all TOCs in Great Britain, will be processing hundreds of millions of passenger segments annually during a 10-year contract period with the S3 Passenger off-the-shelf platform.
Having contracted Eurostar early 2018, we are very happy signing up RDG next to deliver to all Great Britain based TOCs a new inventory system allowing them to grow their business and process more passenger transactions. RDG underlines the current trend in public transport that SaaS Customer-off-the-shelf solutions are favoured over bespoke software development. Sqills will continue to invest in S3 Passenger to remain the industry preferred SaaS based inventory, reservation and ticketing platform, in close cooperation with our customers. The wide industry experience of the Great Britain TOCs is most welcome to the growing S3 Passenger community.
