Hamburg-Köln Express stops operation (2012 – 2017)

Hamburg-Köln-Express was the first rail operator using S3 Passenger (S3P). Sqills and Hamburg-Köln-Express signed the S3P contract in 2011.

Hamburg-Köln-Express was launched in July 2012 as a “value” passenger rail service between Cologne and Hamburg, with travel times as fast as the IC train, reaching a maximum speed of 100 mph (160 kmh). Journey time is a little over 4 hours over the 280 mile (450 km) main line with intermediate stops at Osnabrück, Münster, Gelsenkirchen, Essen, Duisburg and Düsseldorf.

Until mid 2017, Hamburg-Köln-Express and Sqills have worked closely together, the gained experience has helped Sqills to develop S3P in becoming the best available sales, reservation and distribution software suite available in the market.

For economic reasons, Hamburg-Köln-Express stopped operation.
