High-speed operator iryo implements S3 Passenger in only 12 months

Spanish high-speed operator iryo has managed to implement S3 Passenger in just 12 months. Iryo selected S3 Passenger for its world renowned rail-centric design and its off-the-shelf product.

The new entrant into the Spanish high-speed rail market only needed one year to implement S3 Passenger. They managed to do this while developing their front-end websites, integrating IT infrastructure, recruiting and training staff, getting their trains ready, and launching the iryo brand.

S3 Passenger played a crucial role in launching the iryo brand in Spain. The proven technology, relevant product features, excellent documentation and product support allowed us to configure S3 Passenger in no time.

Passengers in Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Cordoba, Malaga, and Seville will be the first to benefit from more frequency and affordable prices with iryo’s new offer.

The recent Go-Live means that S3 Passenger, the world’s leading inventory, sales, and distribution system, is now in use with 40 rail and bus operators across the globe.

Flexibility comes standard

Both iryo and Sqills are fully committed to providing consumers the necessary benefits and product features to opt for rail as their preferred mode of transport. Iryo will provide a personalised offering that meets travellers’ specific needs, consequently making rail travel even more attractive.

The out-of-the-box features in combination with the flexibility and ongoing innovation offered by S3 Passenger means that operators can effectively compete in dynamic markets. The fact that the Sqills implementation project only took 12 months further highlights this fact.

Another effective self-service implementation

Following the implementation of both VIA Rail and Itabus, iryo is yet another example of an efficient implementation project managed and executed by iryo in self-service mode. Only a limited amount of consultancy was needed to support iryo in their 12-month implementation project.

Bart van Munster, Sqills CEO, added, “the ongoing liberalisation of the Spanish market and the short period between iryo’s inception and Go-Live only further highlights the fact that Sqills has the flexibility to configure S3 Passenger to meet specific operator demands while also offering a mature product that meets 99% of demands of the industry out-of-the-box”.
