NS Central Validation System

Passage through OV Chipcard gates for (inter)national travelers.

NS is responsible for the passage of (inter)national passengers on stations with OV Chipcard Gates. These gates are used as check-in and check-out for travelling with the OV Chipcard. For passengers without an OV Chipcard, passage is not possible at the moment. This is a problem for most international passengers, because most of them do not have an OV Chipcard. Sqills is working with NS on a solution for this scenario.

In the project 2D Barcode passage, NS and Sqills are working on a solution for the passengers. The problem is solved by allowing passage based on barcodes, because most international passengers have a ticket with such a 2D barcode.

The main goal of the CVS application is determining whether the passenger has the right to pass through the gates on a Dutch BTS station, based on the barcode on his ticket. CVS contains relevant data and validation rules, to determine this right.
