NS is responsible for the passage of (inter)national passengers on stations with OV Chipcard Gates. These gates are used as check-in and check-out for travelling with the OV Chipcard. For passengers without an OV Chipcard, passage is not possible at the moment. This is a problem for most international passengers, because most of them do not have an OV Chipcard. Sqills is working with NS on a solution for this scenario.
In the project 2D Barcode passage, NS and Sqills are working on a solution for the passengers. The problem is solved by allowing passage based on barcodes, because most international passengers have a ticket with such a 2D barcode.
The main goal of the CVS application is determining whether the passenger has the right to pass through the gates on a Dutch
BTS station, based on the barcode on his ticket. CVS contains relevant data and validation rules, to determine this right.
